Swedish legend Henrik Larsson has entered a very exclusive club of footballers who have had the opportunity to play alongside their sons in professional football.

When second-division side Hogaborg, with Sweden Under-15 capped Jordan Larsson in the playing eleven, were running short of options Henrik had the opportunity to give their attack an international boost.

The former Celtic, Barcelona and Manchester United striker and current Hogaborg assistant coach was brought on 10 minutes from time to partner his son in attack.

They therefore joined Ian Bowyer (Gary Bowyer) and Alec Herd (David Herd) from their days at Hereford and Stockport respectively as only three of a few pairs to have played with their sons on the same team.

Hogaborg pulled off a 4-2 win and Henrik told Swedish daily Expressen after the game: "I came in as a last resort when we were short of strikers.

"[Me and Jordan] did not have so many combinations, but it is clear that I am proud. Few are privileged to play football together with their son."

Henrik, who made 106 appearances for Sweden and scored 37 goals, is currently gaining coaching experience at the second-division side.

But he ruled out the prospect of his surprise cameo turning into a regular thing, adding: "The fitness was already there, but there have never been any plans to make a comeback. But because I already had my [playing] licence, we thought it would be a good solution."
