Stephen Warnock has insisted that the new Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn has the respect of the players.

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino sacked Darko Milanic last week after they went down against Wolves at home 2-1; Milanic's reign lasted just 32 days.

Earlier this week Redfearn accepted the Italian’s offer to become the full-time manager of the club, although the news has not yet been officially announced, and Warnock stated that the players are firmly behind the new manager.

"He’s obviously got the respect of the chairman, respect of the players", Warnock told LUTV.

"We’ve worked under him quite a few times, the lads who have been here for a longer period at the club.”

The full-back said that the squad enjoy their sessions under Redfearn and believes that he is also someone who knows how to get the best out of the players.

"I think he’s someone that the lads enjoy working for and hopefully he can get the best out of the team and try and turn things in the right way now.

"I think he just knows that if he tries to keep the lads happy and gets them enjoying their football again, things will go well."

Leeds are currently 18th in the Championship table on 16 points and will take a trip to Wales this Saturday to take on Cardiff.
