La Liga giants Sevilla have added Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho to their shortlist of potential signings in this month's transfer window.

A number of clubs are showing interest in the former Paris Saint-Germain defender, who has not featured for Liverpool's senior team on a single occasion this season following falling foul of boss Jurgen Klopp.

Now Sevilla are also interested in Sakho, with the centre-back having been included in the club's shortlist of possible signings, according to Spanish daily AS.

Sevilla are keen to strengthen their defensive options for the second half of the season and are attracted to Sakho's versatility, as they believe they could deploy the Frenchman at either centre-back or left-back.

If Sevilla do choose to swoop for Sakho they are likely to face significant competition for his signature.
