Spurs’ new football managing director Fabio Paratici is working hard to push deals over the line to reinforce Nuno’s squad ahead of next season.

Paratici has a number of deals on the go and it appears one switch is close to happening, with a swap lined up involving Lamela.

It is claimed that Lamela will move to Spanish giants Sevilla, while 20-year-old winger Gil will head the other way to north London.

Tottenham will also pay a fee to Sevilla, with the Spanish side set to pick up €25m plus add-ons as part of the agreement.

Personal terms still need to be agreed with each player by the respective club.

Lamela joined Tottenham from Italian side Roma in the summer of 2013, but is now poised to end his association with the north London club.

In return Spurs will receive Spain international Gil, just 20 years old and regarded as a bright talent.

Gil picked up his first Spain cap in March this year and is a product of Sevilla’s youth system.
