Kounde has been heavily liked with leaving Sevilla in the ongoing window, and Champions League holders Chelsea are keen on securing his services.

The Blues tried to structure a part-exchange deal with Sevilla for Kounde, that included Kurt Zouma joining the La Liga side, but it failed to materialise with the 26-year-old preferring to stay in the Premier League.

Chelsea still have Kounde among their top targets but Sevilla coach Lopetegui has insisted he has seen no indication that the 22-year-old will leave the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan this summer.

Kounde started for Sevilla in their 3-0 La Liga win against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday and remains a key part of Los Palanganas, but Lopetegui admitted anything can happen before the transfer window slams shut at the end of August.

Asked about Kounde’s future, Lopetegui was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Marca: “I don’t have the feeling that this is his last game.

“There is nothing that tells me that he will not continue with us.

“He played a very good game.

“Things can happen until 31st August.

“We need to strengthen positions and we are working on it.”

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea make further solid moves to lure away Kounde to Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.
