Koch played the full 90 minutes as Leeds came from behind to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers in their opening Premier League fixture at Elland Road on Saturday.

The 26-year-old centre-back wants to turn in assured performances in defence as the Whites look to avoid a repeat of last season’s flirtation with relegation.

Koch has international ambitions in a World Cup year, but confirmed that his focus lies solely on doing well with Leeds at the moment.

An added goal for the Germany international is to be part of Die Mannschaft as they bid to get their hands on a record-equalling fifth World Cup.

With that in mind, Koch wants to put his best foot forward in every game he plays for the Whites and earn a recall for the Nations League fixtures against England and Hungary in September.

I want to perform well at Leeds, that’s where my focus is. So I can recommend myself for the World Cup”, Koch told German magazine Sport BILD.

I am still in regular contact with the coaching team.

“My goal is to be 100 per cent to every game in the Premier League and to be involved in the international matches in September.”

Next, Leeds will take on Southampton at St. Mary’s on Saturday and Koch will be hoping to help his side to another win.
