A new striker has been a priority for Newcastle throughout the ongoing window, but they have been left frustrated in their quests to land any of their initial attacking targets.
The Magpies have now zeroed in on Watford hitman Pedro as they look to bolster their attack before the deadline on 1st September.

But the Tyneside giants are not giving up on their hopes of landing Pedro and have remained in talks with the Hertfordshire side.
And Newcastle have now submitted an improved bid in the £30m range for the striker, including bonus payments.
Watford are considering Newcastle’s fresh offer for their attacker but are yet to agree to a move.
Newcastle and Watford are currently discussing the payment structure of the fee for Pedro and about the finer details of the add-on payments.
The Magpies are hopeful of adding Pedro to their ranks while they could see Callum Wilson forced to the sidelines owing to injury.
