Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to add an attacking midfielder to his ranks before the window slams shut on 1st September and Club Brugge man Vanaken is his top target

Vanaken is a player West Ham have tried to sign in the past and they have struggled to get a deal over the line for him so far in this window.

The Irons initially slapped in a €10m offer for the midfielder which the Belgians rejected and they returned to the table with an improved bid in the €11m range.

But the Jupiler Pro League side knocked back West Ham’ second bid for Vanaken, although the player is keen on securing a move to the London Stadium.

And West Ham are set for a fresh round of talks with Club Brugge later today in a bid to convince them to let Vanaken join them.

Club Brugge want a quick resolution on the 29-year-old’s future and are still trying their best to hold on to him.

It remains to be seen whether West Ham will table a third bid for Vanaken in the coming days and, if they do, whether it will be accepted by Club Brugge.
