Drameh has made just a solitary appearance for the Whites in the Premier League this season, which came in the demolition at Brentford, where he was replaced by Luke Ayling for the final 20 minutes.

The 20-year-old remains behind Rasmus Kristensen and Ayling in the pecking order and, seeking game time now that the pair were both fit, Drameh played for the Under-21 side last week.

Skubala is full of praise for the young right-back’s showing against Stoke City’s Under-21 side, with Drameh bagging two assists in a 4-0 triumph.

The 39-year-old tactician insisted it was a strong performance from Drameh, who he believes needs to consistently put in the work to displace the senior professionals currently ahead of him in the pecking order at right-back.

Skubala believes that the 20-year-old has the right attitude to help him in that endeavour and promised to back him to the hilt.

I think in moments he was really cute, he got forward well and defended well at times”, Skubala was quoted as saying by Leeds Live.

He’s come down to get some minutes and it was a really strong performance from Cody.

That’s his challenge.

“He wants to strive and he wants to be the number one right-back at the club and he’s another good young pro that knows he’s got to do work and he’s got some senior international players ahead of him.

It’s hard for him but he’s showing the right attitude to keep going, which is good and we support him.”

Leeds’ first team will travel to London to take on Crystal Palace on Sunday while the Under-21 side will take on Sunderland’s Under-21 side on Monday.
