Bradford led the average attendance figures for League Two last season and their home matches continue to be most-attended this term in the fourth tier by some distance.

The Mark Hughes-led team collected all three points at the weekend against promotion hopefuls Stevenage and Evans has been left impressed by the Bradford support.

Evans praised the Bradford support and thinks that the Bantams arguably have the best fans of any team not in the Premier League.

Speaking to Stevenage’s official channel, Evans said: “They are a fantastic fanbase, the best arguably outside the Premier League, they are the best.”

The Stevenage boss also thinks that Bradford are a side who deserve to be in the promotion conversation and has believed since the start of the season that they can achieve a top three finish.

“We got beat by a real good opponent who I thought at the start of the season, I’ve never doubted it since, that they will be a top three side”, Evans added.

“They should be a top three side.

“Their resources are in the top three, they should be and they’ve got an excellent manager with good players and a great support so they’ve got the recipe to beat us.”

The win over Stevenage means Bradford are now outside the playoff places only due to goal difference and seven points behind Carlisle United in third, who have played two matches more than the Bantams.
