The Whites managed to keep hold of Wilfried Gnonto and added two midfielders in Gruev and Kamara in the final hours of the last summer transfer window.

Leeds struggled at the start of the season due to a lack of squad depth and Farke was struggling to name a matchday squad due to unavailability of players in August.

However, their midfield options have been strengthened and Farke insisted that it was important that the club did the deals to sign Gruev and Kamara.

He admitted that Leeds were not in a position to just trust Ethan Ampadu and teenager Archie Gray for the whole season and needed the midfield additions.

The Leeds boss said in a press conference: “It was much needed to add some depth to midfield.

“We cannot rely on Ethan Ampadu for every second and the same with 17-year-old Archie Gray.

“They have been fantastic so far.

“It is important to have Gruev and Kamara.”

Kamara came on for two minutes against Sheffield Wednesday before the break while Gruev could make his debut when Leeds take on Millwall at the Den on Sunday.
