The Tractor Boys have begun the season brilliantly, but they have also experienced some injury blows in the form of Wes Burns and Christian Walton.
Leif Davies might have joined Ipswich’s injury list after suffering an ankle injury at Hillsborough last weekend, which forced him to leave the field before half-time.
McKenna feels that the numbers his side are posting clear show that they are in a good place at the moment.
The Ipswich boss also admitted that the team are dealing with quite a few injury issues and believes that this season is going to see wear and tear, which he believes the Blues will need their whole squad to get through.
“We know our numbers are in a good place”, McKenna told Ipswich’s media.
“The physical effort and output are there for all to see, but it is going to be a big challenge.
“We have quite a few issues to deal with this morning, there is going to be the wear and tear of a hard season.
“We are going to need our whole squad and we are certainly going to need them in this next run.”
Ipswich are set to take on Southampton on Tuesday at St. Mary’s and they have failed to beat the Saints in their last eight meetings.
