Martin previously managed MK Dons and Swansea City before taking over at St. Mary’s and the Saints are looking to return to the Premier League this season.
Farke’s side are also looking forward to getting back into the top tier this term and they are set to take on Martin’s team at the weekend.
Southampton are struggling under Martin, but Farke has backed his former fellow Canary and insists that he always knew he would become a top manager.
He feels that Martin will make sure that Southampton are set up well when they play Leeds.
“He is a really good coach, he has a good future in the game”, Farke said at a press conference.
“When you face him you know they will be well structured.
“On a personal level, it is great because I worked with him at Norwich and he is a great character.
“He was in the last days of his playing career and you could sense he would be a top-class coach.
“I am looking forward to seeing him but we are aware Southampton are well coached.“
Leeds visit the south coast in fine form and the jury is out on whether an out-of-form Southampton team can turn them over.
