Enzo Maresca’s Leicester are flying high in the Championship at the moment, as they have extended their lead over the teams outside the automatic promotion zone to seven points.

Now at the weekend, second-placed Ipswich Town are set to take on Preston as Leicester will welcome Alex Neil’s Stoke City.

Ipswich Town’s win on Saturday and Maresca’s men triumphing over Stoke could extend the difference to ten points between Leicester and Preston North End.

Nugent stressed that Leicester must not lose the game against the Potters, as he is confident that Ipswich will beat Preston.

The ex-Leicester star further added that he cannot see anything else but a Foxes win over Stoke at the weekend.

“I fancy Ipswich to beat Preston and I fancy Leicester to beat Stoke”, Nugent said on BBC Radio Leicester.

“They would have a ten-point gap going into the international break.

“It is perfect.

“You do not want to lose this game against Stoke because that was what happened against Hull; they lost that game; they sat on it for two weeks and that was when the real Leicester came back.

“It is vital to go into the international break with another three points in the bag and I cannot see anything more than a Leicester win.”

Leicester have won five straight games in Championship and they will want to continue their winning momentum against Stoke in the next game.
