The Irish striker was promoted to the Spurs senior team in 2019 and he was handed his Premier League debut by Jose Mourinho at the end of that same year against Burnley.

He has been sent out on multiple loan stints since to ensure his growth through first-team football, but Parrott struggled to make an impact during his loan spells.

This year he joined Dutch outfit Excelsior on a season-long loan from Tottenham and he has made four-goal contributions in two league starts so far.

The 21-year-old has been called up by the Ireland national team during this international break and he insisted that he has found the joy of playing football again at Excelsior.

“I feel like I’m getting better with every game”, the Spurs loan star told the Irish Independent.

“Things are also going well at Excelsior.

“I came to this club to get playing time and to play in big games.

“I like football again.”

Parrott will be looking to get his performance levels consistently high to attract Ange Postecoglou’s attention ahead of next summer’s pre-season.
