The Tractor Boys secured their fourth straight win in the league after a 2-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road on Tuesday.
Their win over Watford has taken them to the top of the Championship table with 51 points from 21 games and they have a one-point lead over second-placed Leicester City and ten points advantage over third placed Leeds United.
Mills is of the view that Ipswich are flying at the moment and he stated that he does not see anyone better than them in the league.
He stated that, as far as he has seen, only Daniel Farke’s Leeds United and Enzo Maresca’s Leicester City can compete with them in the Championship this season.
“We are really sailing and the other thing is, I am not seeing anybody that is better than us”, Mills said on BBC Radio Suffolk.
“I think Leeds, yes, when I saw them for the very first time, I thought they had something about them that is a little bit better than what we have.
“But since then, apart from seeing Leicester on television a few times, they are well equipped as well in order to compete with us as the best in the league.
“I saw Southampton; at the time, Southampton were poor and everybody has been okay.
“West Bromwich gave us a real sort of [challenge], but I think that was more of an ineffective day for us.”
Ipswich have a couple of tough fixtures ahead as they are set to face Norwich City at the weekend before they take on Leeds United and Leicester City.
