Hull City star Tyler Morton has hailed Sunderland winger Jack Clarke as one of the best in the Championship.

The 23-year-old left-winger has been in excellent form this season, as he has scored eleven times in 24 appearances for Sunderland.

On Boxing Day, Clarke’s 83rd-minute strike against Hull City helped Michael Beale secure his first victory as Sunderland boss.

Morton stated that he has huge respect for the winger as a player and hailed Clarke as one of the best in the league.

The Hull City midfielder stressed that Clarke is a player with quality and pointed out that he is good at cutting inside and scoring goals to make the difference.

“I feel like we’ve done a really good job on both of them [Clarke and Patrick Roberts]”, Morton was quoted by Hull Live.

“They’re both some of the best wingers in the league, especially Jack Clarke, he’s got a lot of quality.

“We have a lot of respect for him as a player, but we really need to stop what he’s best at and that’s cutting in and shooting and scoring goals.

“That’s what he does and he gets that one opportunity, that’s the quality, that’s the difference.”

Sunderland have struggled with scoring goals this season and Clarke has been their top goalscorer so far in this campaign.
