Sheffield Wednesday attacker Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri insists that the Owls fans made Friday night’s clash at Preston North End feel like a home game.
Danny Rohl’s men are scrapping for survival in the Championship and grabbed a crucial 1-0 win at Deepdale.
They started as firm underdogs in the game against a Preston side who had put Leeds United to the sword on their last outing.
The win has moved Sheffield Wednesday on to 19 points and six points off safety in the Championship standings.
Owls star Cadamarteri admits it was a tough night’s work at Preston which has left him feeling worse for wear.
He also took time to hail the Sheffield Wednesday fans for making it feel like a home game.
“Stiiiiiiiifff today and I only played 65”, Cadamarteri wrote on X.
“Can’t imagine what the lads that played 90 feel like, the lads put a shift in last night and ground it out.
“The Sheffield Wednesday fans were unbelievable again, it actually felt like we were playing at home that second half with the support.”
Next up for Sheffield Wednesday is a home clash against Hull City on New Year’s Day and they will be desperate to continue their momentum.
