Ipswich Town’s compensation clause in Kieran McKenna’s contract would not put off either Crystal Palace or Brighton if they move for him, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

McKenna has been making waves at Portman Road this season after leading Ipswich up from League One to the Championship.

The boss has Ipswich fighting for automatic promotion up to the Premier League and his exploits have boosted his stock.

Crystal Palace are considering him as the successor to Roy Hodgson as they ideally look to change managers in the summer.

Brighton are also keen on McKenna in the event they have to replace Roberto De Zerbi.

Ipswich would be entitled to compensation of around £4m if McKenna is tempted away.

And while that is a substantial sum, it would not be enough to put off either Brighton or Palace.

McKenna is unlikely to want to leave Ipswich now as he spearheads a promotion push, but the Tractor Boys may be at risk of losing him in the summer.
