Leeds United are expecting to see Willy Gnonto join West Ham United before the end of this month’s transfer window, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Gnonto tried to force his way out of Leeds last summer but eventually decided to dig in and become part of Daniel Farke’s squad after the Whites refused to sell.

However, the winger has not been a certain starter this season and it is claimed the club are now expecting to lose him in the ongoing window.

West Ham are pushing to sign him and Leeds believe that the winger will be at the London Stadium by the end of the window.

Leeds are now pushing ahead to seek a replacement and have identified Burnley’s Manuel Benson as their priority target.

Benson scored 12 times in 33 Championship appearances last season and helped Burnley to get promoted to the Premier League.

However, he has found himself on the fringes of the Burnley squad this term and is keen to leave the club this month.

Leeds are plotting to bring him in as Gnonto’s replacement and boost their promotion hopes this season.
