Antonio Nusa’s camp believe that if their client joined Tottenham Hotspur then it would be taking too big a leap in the development of his career, as he heads for Brentford instead, according to Sky Sports News.

Spurs have been holding talks with Club Brugge in an effort to win the race for the signature of the 18-year-old winger.

It had looked as if they would sign Nusa and then loan him back to the Belgian side until the summer.

He is not going to Tottenham though and is instead poised for a £25m move to Brentford, being then loaned back to Club Brugge until the end of the season.

And it has emerged that Nusa’s representatives were concerned about joining Tottenham.

They felt that going to Tottenham would have been taking too big a step in his development right now.

Nusa has also been promised that he will be a regular starter in the side at Brentford next season.

Landing Nusa is a coup for Brentford, with the winger also wanted by both Chelsea and Newcastle United.
