Birmingham City will have to wait until late in the transfer window for Crystal Palace to make a call on the availability of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Tony Mowbray is an admirer of the young attacker, who caught the eye while on loan in League One at Charlton Athletic last term.

And there could be a possibility for Mowbray to take Rak-Sakyi to St Andrew’s to bolster his squad this month.

Crystal Palace are showing interest in Birmingham midfielder Jordan James, who Italian side Atalanta have been trying to sign.

If Palace do come for James, that could give Blues further leverage in their interest in Rak-Sakyi.

Birmingham have already been in touch with Crystal Palace to make clear their interest in snapping him up.

However, it is suggested that Palace are likely to only make a call late in the window on his future.

Birmingham could even have to wait until deadline day on Thursday to be able to see if they can sign Rak-Sakyi.
