French outfit Lyon are considering Tottenham Hotspur star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as a possible addition before the transfer window closes.

Under Ange Postecoglou, the 28-year-old midfielder has played a bit part role for Tottenham, though injuries have seen him handed more opportunities.

Hojbjerg has featured 20 times for Spurs this season in the league but has started only five games.

He has long been inked with leaving this month and has had serious interest from Italian sides, including Napoli.

However, while those sides want to loan him, Tottenham’s stance has been that Hojbjerg can only leave on a permanent deal.

There could be another escape route for Hojbjerg though as, according to French outlet Foot Mercato, Lyon are now considering signing him.

Lyon, who have just signed Nemanja Matic, are embroiled in a relegation scrap in Ligue 1.

Whether moving to Lyon is something which could tempt Hojbjerg is unclear, but the midfielder is down the pecking order at Tottenham.
