Blackburn Rovers have yet to reach an agreement with Orlando City over Sheffield Wednesday target Duncan McGuire, according to the Athletic.

The 22-year-old centre forward is drawing attention from several European outfits in the ongoing transfer window.

Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers are battling to land McGuire’s signature.

Both clubs submitted offers to Orlando City and it is suggested that Blackburn are set to win the race for McGuire due to their bid consisting of a favourable payment structure.

However, it has now been claimed that no deal has been reached between Orlando City and Blackburn Rovers for McGuire.

Sheffield Wednesday are set to make an improved and final bid to the MLS outfit today for McGuire.

Danish side FC Midtjylland are also pursuing a deal for the 22-year-old forward and providing stiff competition to Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn.

As the transfer deadline approaches, Blackburn and the Owls both have to move quickly to secure a deal for McGuire.
