Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has praised Whites star Daniel James for leading by example on the pitch.

James joined Leeds in the summer of 2021 and this season he has been a key player in Farke’s starting line-up.

The 26-year-old winger has been in brilliant form for Leeds this season and has scored ten goals in 27 games so far.

Farke pointed out that James is an experienced player with a lot of appearances for the Wales national team and admitted that the winger’s opinions are considered important in the dressing room.

The Leeds boss stated that James is someone who leads by example on the pitch rather than making speeches in the dressing room.

“He is an experienced player in our group, with appearances for national teams”, Farke said at a press conference.

“It is quite natural that the older you get and the more experienced you get, the more important your word is in the dressing room.

“But it is not like leadership just in the dressing room; it is like leading by example in the games.

“When I think about how many times he was capable of initiating the press or recovering the ball by sprinting and winning the ball with a tackle, this is also leadership and I would say this leadership is even more important than being there with great speeches in the dressing room.”

Leeds are keen on achieving promotion this season and Farke will be hoping that James keeps up his good form in front of goal to aid their campaign.
