Ajax defender Jorrel Hato has admitted that Aston Villa outplayed the Dutch outfit in every aspect of the game in Thursday’s Europa League clash.

Aston Villa drew 0-0 against Ajax in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 fixture at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

On Thursday, Unai Emery’s side thrashed the Dutch giants 4-0 at Villa Park to secure their place in the next round of the competition.

The Ajax star also stated that the Emery’s side outplayed them on and off the ball and stressed that the Premier League outfit won every duel on the pitch.

“Aston Villa were better than us in every aspect tonight”, Hato told Dutch magazine Voetbal International.

“On the ball, without the ball and in terms of intensity.

“They won almost all their duels.”

Aston Villa are set to face West Ham United at the weekend at the London Stadium before they go into the international break.
