Serie A giants Lazio have started work on a potential deal to try and sign Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham in the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old midfielder has stood out in a disappointing Sunderland side this season and is wanted at several clubs.

He is said to have suitors in the Premier League, but the teenager is also attracting interest from clubs in Europe.

Lazio showed an interest in the Sunderland midfielder in the winter transfer window and are already planning to rekindle their willingness to sign him ahead of the summer.

According to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), Lazio are already putting in legwork behind the scenes for the Sunderland star.

It has been claimed that Bellingham is a big target for Lazio ahead of the next summer transfer window.

They have started work on a potential deal to take the midfielder to the Stadio Olimpico.

Bellingham is an England youth international as well and has represented his country five times for their Under-19s.
