Bayern Munich are keen to extend the contract of Sunderland managerial target Rene Maric, in what would be a blow to the Black Cats if they want to appoint him.
The 31-year-old is a highly-rated coach in Germany and is currently in charge of the Bayern Munich Under-19 side.
The German giants are highly impressed by the work the young coach has carried and want to hold on to him.
Sunderland have their eyes on Maric as they seek to bring in a new manager and the club are keen to finalise an appointment soon.
According to German daily Tageszeitung, Bayern Munich want to extend the young coach’s contract.
They believe Maric has a massive future ahead of him and want to keep him at the club going forward.
Sunderland want to bring in a progressive young coach and Maric is someone they have huge admiration for him.
It remains to be seen whether he would prefer to stay at Bayern Munich or look to start his career in management.
