Marco Silva has been gaining traction internally at Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad who are expected to soon make an approach for the Fulham boss, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.

Marcelo Gallardo was dismissed by Al-Ittihad earlier this month after he asked for the removal of star player Karim Benzema this summer.

The Saudi outfit are now looking for a new manager and the club have been looking at several options at the moment.

A number of names are on the club’s shortlist as they seek to finalise an appointment as soon as possible.

It has been claimed one of the names gaining traction in their internal meetings is of Fulham manager Silva.

He has managed to establish Fulham as a solid Premier League club and is rapidly gaining popularity amongst Al-Ittihad officials.

The Saudi outfit are planning to make an approach to snare him away from Fulham soon this summer.

It remains to be seen whether the Portuguese would be open to swapping the Premier League for the Saudi Pro League at this stage of his career.
