Derby County are confident of being able to snap up Ebou Adams from Cardiff City, according to journalist Darren Witcoop.

Cardiff City signed the 28-year-old central midfielder from Forest Green Rovers in 2021 on a free transfer.

Adams spent the second half of the last season on loan with Derby in League One and impressed Paul Warne with his performances.

Derby managed to earn promotion to the Championship last season and they want to strengthen to back Warne in the second tier.

Warne wants to re-sign Adams, who has entered the final year of his contract with the Bluebirds.

It has been claimed that Derby are confident of agreeing a deal with the midfielder regarding a return.

The Rams are also in negotiations with Cardiff City to find a solution for Adams and are positive about finding an agreement.

Last season, Adams played 17 times for Derby and netted a goal and an assist while picking up six cautions.

Derby have been active in the ongoing transfer window and they are preparing themselves for life in the Championship.
