Denmark acting national team coach Lard Knusden has insisted that he is not worried about Leicester City star Jannik Vestergaard and feels the Dane will be in contention to play for the Foxes this weekend.

The physically strong central defender played in the opening two matches under Steve Cooper but has not played since.

On 24th August he played against Fulham and started two matches for his country last month in the UEFA Nations League.

Knusden stressed that he is not worried about Vestrergaard as he feels the central defender is in good physical shape.

The 47-year-old even feels that the Denmark international will compete to get some game time against Bournemouth this Saturday.

“I am not worried about that. Jannik has had a full pre-season and he’s played in the Premier League, while he’s played two games for Denmark recently”, Knusden said via Danish outlet Bold about the Foxes man.

“He is in a good place physically.

“He has had a little bit of a break where he has not had as much game time lately.

“He is ready to compete for game time again this weekend.”

Wout Faes, Caleb Okoli and Conor Coady have been preferred by Cooper in recent games and it remains to be seen if Vestergaard will be back in the squad when the Foxes face the Cherries this weekend.
