Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham has hailed Leeds United as really good opponents ahead of the clash on Friday and claimed that being at home will give them an advantage over the Whites.
Leeds drew 1-1 against Norwich City on Tuesday, and now they are set to face high-flying Sunderland on Friday night in the Championship.
Sunderland, who are unbeaten at home this season, will host Leeds at the Stadium of Light and Daniel Farke’s men will be determined to beat the Black Cats to climb up the table.
Bellingham admitted that Leeds will be another tough test for Sunderland as the Yorkshire outfit are a really good team and stated that they want to compete against strong teams like the Whites.
The Sunderland star also believes that having their home fans behind them will be a massive boost and stated that they will be at an advantage on Friday.
When asked about the Leeds’ game on Friday, Bellingham told Sunderland’s media: “Yes, it will be another really tough test.
“Today was a different type of challenge to what that will be like; as we know Leeds are really, really good opposition.
“So we are going to have to face the challenge and see what we can do and try and get through it together as a team.
“With the fans, it will be a massive boost against, like I said, a really good team with really good players who were right up there last year and that is where we want to be, so we are going to have to compete against those kinds of teams and at home, it is a real advantage.”
Sunderland have started the new campaign brightly under Regis Le Bris and beating Leeds would be a real statement of intent.
