Norwich City new boy Emiliano Marcondes has insisted that Aston Villa star Emiliano Buendia is a very good player.

The 29-year-old Dane had been without a club since the summer before he joined Norwich after his contract expired with Premier League outfit Bournemouth.

He made his Norwich debut at Carrow Road earlier this month in a 4-0 win over Hull City in a league clash.

27-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder Buendia joined the Villans from the Canaries three years ago and Marcondes insisted that he played a few times against the Argentine.

The Canaries signing has admitted that former Norwich man Buendia is an imperious footballer.

“I played against him a few times. [He is] a very good player”, Marcondes said on BBC Radio Norfolk about the Aston Villa star.

Buendia has only played 13 minutes of league football this season as he is gaining his match fitness back after a long-term injury; he has captained the Villans in two domestic cup matches this term.

Buendia was a stalwart presence during his time at Carrow Road; Marcondes will have to put in impressive displays if he wants to earn a longer contract next summer at the Canaries or somewhere else.
