Paul Warne has compared Derby County star Ben Osborn to a Labrador searching for meat, such is his enthusiasm on the training pitch.
The 30-year-old midfielder joined Derby from Sheffield United on a free transfer and has managed to establish himself as a key player under Warne.
Osborn picked up a minor hamstring injury before the international break and missed the Queens Park Rangers game on 5th October.
Warne revealed that Osborn has trained with the team for the last couple of days after recovering from the injury and added that the player looked good to him.
The Derby boss revealed that sometimes they have to calm Osborn’s enthusiasm down on the training ground and compared the midfielder’s work ethic to a Labrador’s, who is in search of meat.
“Ozzy has trained a couple of days, so he looks ]like] Ozzy, which is good”, Warne told Rams TV.
“You have to just calm [him]; you have to literally calm him down.
“He is like a Labrador in training, running around looking for meat.”
Derby are set to take on Millwall at the weekend and it remains to be seen whether Osborn will be fully fit for that game.
