Two of Europe’s giants go head to head tonight in a highly anticipated Champions League affair at the San Siro. Having been knocked out by AC Milan in four previous ties, all eyes will be on the rampant Wayne Rooney to see if he can lift Manchester United to their first win against the Rossoneri in the Italian heavyweights’ historic grounds. Milan midfielder Flamini however, claims the in form striker will not be given any special treatment.
“Fear is not the word. Of course we have to be careful because we know he is a great player who can score at any time," Flamini told BBC Sport. “There are no special plans for Rooney, just to concentrate and be strong. We have to focus on him but also on the rest of the team because Manchester United attack with many players," he added.
Manchester United have not had much fortune at all in the San Siro against the mighty AC Milan, losing all four times they made the trip – three of which were semi-final defeats.
