Manchester City, who are well in the race for fourth spot, have been criticised for seemingly lowering their level of play against the so-called lesser teams in the Premier League. Striker Carlos Tevez claims his side need to rekindle the same fire that burned in their win against Chelsea in order to maintain their push for Champions League qualification.
“The thing now is for us to make sure we keep calling on the spirit that we showed at Chelsea, and continue to play the way we are doing,” Tevez said on the club’s official website. “We must show that same character and personality so that we can win the game at Sunderland and keep up our challenge for the fourth place."
City visit the Stadium of Light on Sunday, against a Sunderland side that will be brimming with confidence after their 3-0 thrashing of Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.
