Manager Carlo Ancelotti urges Chelsea to regain the form that saw them become leaders of the Premier League after drawing with Blackburn Rovers yesterday. The disappointing result leaves the London club four points off Manchester United, who staked their claim to a fourth consecutive league title yesterday by beating rivals Liverpool.
“United are top of the list and we have to do more, do better, and leave this moment as soon as possible,” Ancelotti stated on the club’s official website. “It is important to win on Wednesday. The difficult moment started against Manchester City, we lost an unbelievable game and now we are inside this moment and have to win because that is the only solution to go forward.”
Chelsea next face rock-bottom Portsmouth in midweek, who impressively edged out Hull City 3-2 at the weekend to ruin Iain Dowie’s debut as Tigers manager.
