Thierry Henry has spoken of his love for former club Arsenal and how he one day hopes to return to the north London club.
The French forward turned out for the Gunners between 1999 and 2007, before moving to Spanish giants Barcelona. Now 33 years old, Henry finds himself in the MLS with New York Red Bulls, but his passion for Arsenal has not died.
"I love Arsenal, we know that, but unfortunately I had to leave, but even after I left the team, I never really left Arsenal", said Henry.
"Every time I come back I feel I am going home to a big family and I became a fan. I remember what it meant to beat United, what it meant to be a fan when they played Tottenham. There are things you have to understand in a year or two, you have to live and breathe Arsenal to understand them."
And Henry would love to return to his former club at some point in the future, in any capacity.
"I would love to go there. I hope that one day I will return. I love the club and I want to give back everything the club has given me. I know the day that Arsene [Wenger] leaves it will be difficult, I don’t know who might replace him, this will be the tricky part. But if one day they should want me, I just want to come back, I don’t know when, I just want to come back."
