Lille have received a big boost with the news that Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard has extended his contract with the club. Hazard is a target for a range of sides, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid, and is expected to be the subject of big-money bids in the summer.

Having added a further two years to his current deal however, Hazard has placed Lille in an even stronger position when the offers begin to drop on the Ligue 1 club’s doormat.

The 20-year-old now sees his contract with Rudi Garcia’s men expire in 2015, and although Lille would desperately love to keep hold of the player, it could well be they find the money on offer too hard to resist.

Lille though should qualify for next season’s Champions League – the side could even win this year’s Ligue 1 – and that offers fans a sliver of hope that Hazard may stick around for a campaign in Europe’s showpiece competition.
