Kenny Dalglish has rallied Liverpool to mount an end of season surge to grab fifth spot in the Premier League and ensure European football at Anfield next season.

The Reds were dumped out of the Europa League in midweek after losing their Round of 16 clash with Portuguese side Braga 1-0 on aggregate.

And Dalglish has at once turned his attention back to the Premier League, commenting that nothing is decided yet.

"You only get into Europe if you win games", said Dalglish to the club’s official site.

"If we win enough games and get enough points, we will get into Europe.

"We know that in every league game we will try our best to get as much as we can from it. It’s very difficult to predict how many points we’ll need for anything."

And the Scot reinforced that point, stating that other teams could yet slip up and the amount of points for European qualification is not yet known.

"For teams fighting relegation, for European qualification, to win a championship, you don’t know what anybody else is going to do and you don’t know how many points another team is going to pick up, so as we’ve said before, we’ll just take the next game as the most important one and and get as much as we can from it."
