Veteran German coach Jupp Heynckes has revealed that Bayern Munich have been in contact over the soon to be vacant coach’s job at the Allianz Arena.

The 65-year-old is currently bossing rival Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, but has vast experience in the game and is being considered as a potential successor to Dutchman Louis van Gaal.

Heynckes is expected to leave the BayArena at the end of the campaign and could well fit the bill for the Munich giants.

The Leverkusen coach has confirmed that Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has been in touch with him, although the veteran boss commented: "I did not say yes and did not start any negotiations."
