Reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has asked his Los Blancos superiors to sign Daniele De Rossi from Roma in the summer transfer window.
The Portuguese initially wanted to bring either Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas or Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger to the Bernabeu to bolster his midfield, but both look out of reach and De Rossi is an obtainable target.
Madrid-based daily Marca estimated Real’s opening gambit will be €25M, which could well prove enough for Roma to bid farewell to a player who has, since making his senior debut for the club in 2001, become a Giallorossi icon.
