Alberto Aquilani has declared himself calm about his future while admitting that he considers Juventus to be "a great team".
The Italian midfielder is on loan at the Bianconeri from Liverpool, but that deal is due to expire this month and thus far Juventus have baulked at paying the €16M that was agreed last summer as needed to make the move permanent. Juventus have even been lining up a swoop for AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo, which could well mean they opt not to try and negotiate any further with Liverpool.
And while Aquilani has gone on the record this season as saying he would like to remain in Serie A, the midfielder also explains that he is relaxed about what might happen.
"I knew I would arrive at this point and I knew there’s a deadline", said Aquilani, "but I am calm.
"Juventus are a great team, so I’m happy."
There are sure to be more twists and turns in the Aquilani saga before the 2011/12 campaign gets under way and the smart money still suggests he will begin next season at an Italian club.
