Antonio Conte, the favourite to succeed Luigi Delneri at Juventus for next season, wants to make Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez his main transfer target.

The 41-year-old, who is currently in charge of Siena, is reported by Gazzetta dello Sport to have informed the Bianconeri management that Sanchez could play a crucial role in helping the club to finish next season in a Champions League spot – a feat Juventus are desperate to accomplish.

To snap up Sanchez though Juventus will have to splash out a substantial fee – around €35M – and also beat off competition from Chelsea, Inter and Manchester City. Barcelona and Real Madrid are also believed to be watching Sanchez’ situation with great interest.

If all the interested parties can come to an agreement with Udinese, then it will come down to Conte to use all his powers of persuasion to convince the 22-year-old that his future would be brighter with a switch to Turin.
