The assistant to Wesley Sneijder’s agent, Blagoj Trifunov, has declared that in his opinion there have never been serious discussions over a switch to Manchester United for his client.
Sneijder, who currently turns out for Serie A giants Inter, has long been mentioned as a target for Manchester United and transfer speculation has stepped up a gear with the end of the season quickly approaching.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is known to be a big fan of the Dutchman and there is little doubt space could be found for him at Old Trafford. However, Trifunov, who works as an assistant to Sneijder’s agent Soren Lerby, does not believe the talk is serious.
"Has Lerby talked with Sneijder? Yes, the player is fine and today he will start work again with the group", Trifunov told FC Inter News.
"His future? Wesley is still satisfied to be at Inter."
And when asked directly about talk linking Sneijder to United, Trifunov replied: "Sneijder has often been considered a target for many European clubs, but there have never been serious talks about him."
