Iraq are in talks with legendary Brazilian Zico with a view to the coach becoming their new national team boss.

The Middle Eastern country has not extended the contract of German coach Wolfgang Sidka despite reasonable results during his time in charge.

Now the Iraqis are speaking to Zico, the former legendary Brazil player and well-travelled manager.

Zico has experience of international football, having taken charge of Japan between 2002 and 2006.

At club level the former Flamengo great has bossed Fenerbahce, Bunyodkor, CSKA Moscow and Olympiacos.
