Inter are considering trying to push through a move for unhappy Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez before the transfer window closes.

But the Nerazzurri only want a loan deal for the Argentine, with an option to buy at some point in the future.

Inter technical director Marco Branca is scouring the market to put together a list of strikers the club could target, and Tevez’ name is right at the top.

There remains the possibility that Samuel Eto’o may yet decide to head to Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala, who have offered the Cameroon hitman €20M a year in wages, however even if the former Barcelona man does not move, Inter’s interest in Tevez will remain undimmed.

Alternatives to the Argentina star are also under consideration, with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Forlan and Napoli’s Ezequiel Lavezzi studied closely.

Operations to buy each however would be complicated by the fact that both Atletico and Napoli would be unwilling to part with their strikers on a loan basis before a permanent move.

Therefore if Inter did move for either Forlan or Lavezzi it would need to be in a straight cash swoop.
