Birmingham City striker Nikola Zigic has been added to Real Betis’ wanted list.
Betis believe that the 30-year-old Serbian would aid their quest to avoid relegation from La Liga this season and, having missed out on Spanish forward Daniel Guiza, beaten by Getafe to the forward’s signature, are exploring the possibility of making a bid.
Zigic has been linked with an exit from Birmingham for most of the summer and following the club’s relegation from the English Premier League last season, looks unlikely to still be in the Midlands when the transfer window shuts.
The giant Serbian has significant experience of Spanish football, having turned out for Racing Santander and Valencia before moving to England.
Betis claimed promotion to La Liga last season, winning the Segunda Division, and are determined to avoid slipping back through the trapdoor.
