Jean-Alain Boumsong has extended his contract with Panathinaikos until 2014.
The French defender was keen to secure a longer stay at the Athens giants and will now continue his Greek adventure for a further two years.
Boumsong joined Panathinaikos in 2010 from Ligue 1 giants Lyon.
In his first season the centre back managed 25 appearances in the Greek Super League, though last year that number was down to 17.
Boumsong has also enjoyed spells with Le Havre, Auxerre, Rangers, Newcastle United and Juventus.
