Hoffenheim coach Markus Babbel has made no secret of his desire to part with Ryan Babel and confirmed that the club are on the lookout for potential suitors for the Dutchman.

Babel joined the Bundesliga outfit in January 2011 from Liverpool. Much was expected from him, but the player’s woeful displays and perceived lack of commitment have frustrated the Hoffenheim manager, who no longer considers him to be good enough to book a place in his squad.

Babbel’s frustration was visible when commenting on the former Ajax man. “What he shows is not enough”, said the German.

According to the Hoffenheim boss, three different coaches have all concluded that Babel is not prepared to give his all on the pitch nor go the extra mile for the sake of the team. The former Stuttgart manager confirmed that his squad have no place for a player with Babel’s work ethos, and is keen to offload the winger as soon as possible.

“It is no secret that we are eagerly waiting for a club to show interest in Babel”, said Babbel. “He has had three coaches and all of them have come to the same conclusion”, he added.

The 25-year-old has always been accused of being work-shy and was severely criticised for his poor work-rate during his time at Liverpool.

Expectations were high when Babel joined Hoffenheim in the 2011 January transfer window, but with only five goals in 46 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, the winger-cum-striker has failed to deliver.
